Mission

Volunteer Memphis develops, promotes, and supports volunteerism. 

Hands On Memphis involves, commits and engages volunteers to make a difference in our community through innovative service.

Purpose

Volunteer Memphis, established in 1975, is an essential partner in improving the quality of life in the Mid-South through recruiting and referring volunteers, supporting non-profit organizations to help them utilize volunteers to their fullest, and connecting people to information and resources that lead to more effective community service delivery. Volunteer Memphis also participates in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet local community needs. 

In 2006, Volunteer Memphis merged with Hands on Memphis to create a blended, more comprehensive "all things volunteer" organization.

• Thousands of volunteers channeled through Volunteer Memphis each year.
  
• 200+ non-profit agencies served through volunteer recruitment, referral and training opportunities.
  
• 2,500 monthly calendars of volunteer opportunities sent to agencies, universities, clubs, churches, civic groups and individuals.
  
• 30+ Corporate Volunteer Council member companies who have existing or emerging employee volunteer and community involvement programs.
  
• 100+ Memphis Teen Volunteers placed with non-profit agencies each summer.
